But you said Military Hiring Preference!

Interesting article over on SpouseBUZZ...two thoughts: 1) I would NEVER ask my employers the questions about how they deal with military spouse {I take a don't ask, don't tell policy when it comes to disclosing my military "dependency." and 2) it is always good to get feedback that we are all often in the same boat.

And military spouses that work in a licensed or certified job field: leave your feedback about how the military could help you deal with job portability issues...

Amen! Though a married couple is a team, that doesn't mean one completely effaces herself for the other. At some point, you need to take care of yourself and not pose everything in the frame of your husband's. If you cut off your chances disclosing all, you'll lose so many chances on the CHANCE that you'll have to move. That stupid CHANCE (all caps, because I hate that guy) can really ruin your life if you'll let him.

The way our life is, I only take part time jobs because of all of Jake's doctor's appointments now. Especially after the psych ones he really shouldn't be driving by himself. I guess one benefit of being retired would be that there isn't the possibility of us having to move or anything, so I can work in whichever field I'd like, as long as they have a PT position available.
